Inspired by a memory of a trip with my two best friends to Newport State Park, Door County WI. It's a magical place unlike no other. When I showed this painting to one of the friends, without telling her where and when, she instantly said..."That's when we went to Newport Beach!"

Painted for the Gallery 223 Spring Show, Into The Light.
I was inspired by a photo I took by my home and named after a Zak Brown Band song. I wanted to give the feeling of walking into the field and towards the sun. Making the painting made me think of how fleeting but powerful, joyful happy moments are in life, as we are only given a limited amount of sunsets. How important it is to make those light memories shine like stars when consumed by darkness.
